ARTERY Coordinator

ARTERY is led by Adam Wheeler, Sarah Groth, and a team of Australia’s leading dance artists and educators.

​

ARTERY believes everyone should be able to experience art-making by delivering bespoke programs designed to reach every corner of Lutruwita/Tasmania.

​

ARTERY is TASDANCE’S Education program and part of the ASSEMBLY 197 network.

​

ASSEMBLY 197 is an inclusive site for transforming inquisitive artists, regional arts practice and connecting with creative communities and curious audiences.

2023 - 2024

Ashley Can Dance

Assembly 197 and Ashley Youth Detention Center

 

Programming weekly dance and circus sessions at the youth detention center. Co-facilitating weekly movement sessions that are focused on play, engagement, self-expression, and community.

2024

Little Gem

Assembly 197 and St Thomas More's Catholic School

 

A seven-week program working with 170 Kinder to Grade 2 students to create Little Gem. A dance and multimedia work exploring Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. Little Gem's creative process was based on the Can Dance Programs that run in Alice Springs and Launceston in partnership with GUTS Dance.
