bring the intensely intimate forward

I am deeply in love with the Earth, its art, and its movement, spending much of my life immersed in forests, rocks, and dirt. Born and raised on Tiwa homelands in New Mexico, my practice is shaped by place, landscape, and community. The places I come from, where I have travelled, and where I now live continue to inform my values as an artist and facilitator. My practice spans contemporary dance, improvisation, choreography, writing, and mixed-media visual art.

Growing up, I studied and worked with the Keshet Center for the Arts, a company rooted in movement, mentorship, community, and youth justice. This experience profoundly shaped my understanding of art as a tool for connection, care, and social engagement. I hold a BA in Contemporary Dance and Intercultural Communications from the University of New Mexico. Between 2019 and 2020, I lived in Nicosia, Cyprus, where I worked with Lia Haraki and Panayiotis Tofi on multiple site-specific works exploring the Green Line and the complexities of divided landscapes.

In 2022, I was awarded the UETF Resiliency Residency, where I expanded my interdisciplinary solo work bodies, exploring presence, femininity, satisfaction, and whiteness in the moving body. I have participated in the ImpulsTanz Festival in Vienna, collaborated on the Albuquerque Contemporary Dance Festival in New Mexico, participated in MAKE 2024 in lutruwita/Tasmania, and worked with Hubert Lepka on HANNIBAL in Sölden, Austria. My visual art, poetry, and short stories have been published in multiple journals and publications internationally.

Currently based in lutruwita/Tasmania, I am honoured to create, teach, and collaborate across the island through my work with Assembly 197 and Tasdance. I am the ARTERY Coordinator at Tasdance, managing the ARTERY portfolio alongside Executive Director Adam Wheeler. My work includes coordinating and facilitating arts programs at Ashley Youth Detention Centre, leading workshops and movement programs in schools and communities across the state, and developing opportunities for young people to engage with contemporary performance practices.

I am also the Project Coordinator for Tasdance’s new work DOUBLE SLINK, supporting a slow-touring model across the northwest of lutruwita/Tasmania and choreographing works with young people in regional communities. Alongside this, I have collaborated on projects including Little Gem, a seven-week creative program with over 170 Kinder to Grade 2 students exploring gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness through dance and multimedia performance, BEACON, an intergenerational dance project presented as part of Ten Days on the Island, and most recently PLAGIARY by Alisdair Macindoe, exploring artificial intelligence and live performance. I have also been the Project Coordinator for DANCEWEEKENDER across the 2025 and 2026 seasons in Nipaluna/Hobart and Launceston for Junction Arts Festival.

Across all areas of my practice, I remain deeply committed to regional arts practice, collaboration, youth engagement, and creating spaces where movement can foster connection, imagination, and shared experience.
